Just a few days away we will welcome the celebration of Chinese New Year. And that day coincides on the 16th of February 2018 especially on Friday. Of course, that week will be a long weekend, because we will be off from Friday to Sunday. We will be off for 3 days. Then do you have plans to spend your vacation time? Do you want to go to a tourist place or just stay home? If you want to go to a tourist place and still confused where you will go, Pesona Lokal has one place that is recommended to welcome this Chinese New Year.

The tourist attractions are located in Semarang, it is Lawang Sewu.  Have you ever heard or visited the sights? Lawang Sewu is a historic building in Indonesia located in Semarang City, Central Java precisely at the Tugu Muda roundabout formerly called Wilhelminaplein. The building was built in 1904 and completed in 1907 which was formerly an office of the Nederlands-Indische Spoorweg Maatschappij or NIS.
Why is it called Lawang Sewu? This building is called Lawang Sewu by local people because this building has many doors. Although the number of doors is not up to a thousand, but this building has many large and high windows, so people think the window is like a door. Lawang Sewu is also associated with mystical things because this building includes old buildings that used to be used for the Dutch colonial massacre. However, judging from the shape of the building, this building is quite beautiful and unique.

To visit this building you can come every day from 07:00 to 21:00 WIB. Admission price is quite cheap; for adults around Rp. 10.000, for children around Rp. 5.000 and for students around Rp. 5.000
